exhaust question

Post  GeenIdee on 27/05/12, 06:52 pm

hey guys,

As my 92 gti isn't in mint condition, i don't want to put much mony in the car, I've already got an rx7 project car, i would like to ask the following:

Is there a certain type of swift (maby older) with exactly the same front exhaust pipe as on my 92 gti but without a catalytic converter?

If so, i think that would be a nice and cheap way to get rid of the catalytic converter as it will be a direct fit in that case..

thx

Now to be off topic, what ex7 project have you got. I have raced st gens for years, built a rotary powered Westfield.

89-92 gtis had no cat, some 92s might as that was the year the law came in
The cheapest way would be to weld some tube in place of the cat as new front section a wont be cheap, maybe the gsi which was the gti copy with 8v engine used the same bit?

It is an FC turbo from 91.

About the swift,

Right after the flange (manifold > front pipe) is a bend with the cat directly attached and after the cat another bend. Hard to copy without the right parts and i want to be able to put it back if needed for (dutch) mot.
