Finally Starting The Rebuild

Post  Ryan... on 04/06/12, 10:47 pm

Now im happy with the daily the rebuild will begin

Engine will be honed (Should not need reboring - I Hope)

I will be using the standard pistons + conrods and just using a garndi chip (new piston rings + gudgin pin)

I will be using a MLS gasket from Suzuki

Will be using all new Suzuki seals/gaskets (Full Gasket Set Inc Cam Seals etc)

New Oil Pump + Water Pump

The head inlet and exhaust ports will be ported and polished. Head will be skimmed. Will have new valve guides and seals + relapped in (replaced if neseccary) + heavier springs

Crank will be polished - hopefully there is no markings (I like shiney things)

The question is what are the best main bearings and big end bearings to use and were do I get them from?
And where can I get ARP bolts for the main and head?

Think I have covered everything! If not just remind me - I have cleared the shed to work on it and got the engine stand ready Smile

alot of people say acl are the best but i cant see there being much difference personally, i used king bearings, brought them on ebay usa. try contacting brands direct or look on their websites for distributors.

i got arp head bolts from srd but i got em as i brought a pulley aswell.
bmw m50 bolts fit apprently look on teamswift or redline.
