Swift Gti turbo update

Post  Tim154 on 09/01/13, 05:19 pm

Due to my swuft running at a stupidly high temperature i decided to take the engine back out and strip it down again. I found that some of the holes on the block guard didnt line up with the headgasket and where also to small restricting the water flow round the engine. Ive now drilled the holes out bigger and in the right place, had the block skimmed and over the next few weeks i will be rebuilding the engine. Photos to follow.

It was from suzuki rd. if i was to fo it again i wouldnt use 1 but the problem is that if i take it out it could mishape the bores and then id have to get new pistons.

I have read couple bad reviews about the block guards and cracking blocks....So thought you got one specially made to suit

You do have to alter them slighty so they fit good and ive heard people have had success with them and engine failures. Will see how i get on with it and if it breaks the block then will swap all my parts into my spare engine.

Hi,

What size pistons are you using?
How come are you using forged pistons instead of Vitara?
I'm collecting parts to do a turbo engine build yet again. This time, I will be using 76mm Vitara with new liners in.
I hope I can get H-beam rods soon..... Rolling Eyes .

Cheers

When i took the block guard out the piston bores distorted so going to have to have it rebored and go for 76mm pistons. Vitara pistons arent high rnough compression for what i want. Not had much luck in finding any wiseco forged pistons yet.
